Operatives of the Lagos state Rapid Response Squad carried out special traffic enforcement along Mile 2, Oshodi Apapa Expressway on Monday, November 2.
Several commercial motorcycles popularly known as Okada plying the highway were impounded by RRS officials.
The clampdown is considered a reaction to the complaint of Lagosians on the activities of Okada riders who seemed to have returned in full force on the highway after the tenure of the former governor of the state, Babatunde Fashola.
The reason for the ban on commercial motorcycles on the highways is for safety reasons as accidents have been reported in the past involving okada riders over speeding .
