The Argentine has now missed eight penalties in La Liga - more than any other player in the Spanish club's history
Here’s one record Lionel Messi does not want to be part of.
The Argentine missed a penalty in Barcelona’s clash with Getafe on Saturday - the eighth of his La Liga career to date.
And that means he has now overtaken Samuel Eto’o as the Barcelona player who has missed the most penalties in La Liga.
In the process, Barcelona have also set a new record as no other team in La Liga history have missed eight penalties in a single season.
Fortunately for the Spanish champions, they are four goals ahead by half-time and will go 11 points clear at the top of the table with a win.
