The Netherlands international returned to action for his former side in his first game for almost five years and proved decisive as he stopped a spot kick in a 1-1 draw
Edwin van der Sar showed he still has the magic goalkeeping touch at 45-years-old when he saved a penalty on his first game for almost five years.
The former Manchester United shot stopper returned to action on Saturday as he turned out for his former club vv Noordwijk after the amateur side had convinced the KNVB to let him stand in for their injured No.1, Mustafa Amezrine.
Van der Sar took to the field in Saturday's clash with Jodan Boys in his first appearance since the 2011 Champions League final between United and Barcelona.
The current Ajax marketing director was called into action in the first half and proved that class is permanent by keeping out the spot kick with ease, preventing his side from going 1-0 down.
However, it was not a perfect performance as Jodan Boys eventually snuck one past the former Netherlands international, though vv Nordwijk were able to recover and earn a 1-1 draw.
